I've been thinking a while about my next computer purchase and I think the combination of an m11x for taking notes in class, and an external monitor for serious gaming after class would be a good combo. So i've been checking out several screens and I was wondering, what does the 21.5 full hd external alienware Optx screen have more than its competitors, except for the average 100dollars/€80 higher price tag. I noticed that this AW screen has a contrast ratio of 80.000:1 (compared to the 30K or 50k:1 the +- €200 samsung screens offer), but since different companies use different methods to measure this contrast, I'm unsure wether there will be any noticable difference when simply playing games.

Fyi, i'm talking about external hd lcd screens with a hdmi port, I know that there are other far cheaper screens but I need the hdmi.

edit: nvm I just saw someone already started a thread about the m11x and an external optx screen here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware-m11x/493797-m11x-alienware-optx-monitor.html

Whatever you get just be sure the resolution you get isn't far above what your Nvidia 335m can handle. For example i'd stay away from a 1920x1080/1200 monitor.
