I finally got home and ripped this thing out of the box yesterday. I can now say I have absolutely no regrets with the screen choice (so do not show me the better one, it's better if I never know.)

The only compatibility issue I have had so far is with Far Cry. It will not install on the 64bit Vista. So here is the plan...I am installing it on a 8Gb stick with my 32 bit home computer. I am then going to download the 64 bit patch from Crytec and AMD and install it. Then I am going to copy all of that off the stick into the M17's C:/ drive.

Does this sound like a workable solution or do I need to try something else?

Have you tried running it in compatibility mode?

I don't know. I haven't tried. How might I go about that? It does not even begin to install. Any suggestions?

Right click on it, click properties, click compatibilty, then choose vista 32bit.

Compatibility mode never allows the user to switch between 32/64 bits. I think you meant XP.

i think running a game like that in compat mode would deter from performance.

Hmm what do you mean it won't install on 64bit Vista? I had no problems with it and I'm running 64bit Vista.

There is little to no difference in game performances due to running them in compatibilty mode in different OSes.

I remember Far Cry installed just fine on my 64 bit OS.

ok well i stand corrected then....just seems that a game that requires so much from a system to begin with would run into issues while running in that mode....but meh.... :D

It worked! Far Cry is up and running fine. I am still going to get ewrecked's drivers and see if there is any differance in performance.

Also don't forget to install the patch 1.3 along with the 64 bit pack. The patch enables HDR in the game while the 64 bit pack installs additional textures, colours and more insects and birds in the environments.
