Hi all,
Was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a Bluetooth earpiece for my laptop. Mine is the M17x R4 with Killer Wireless but I'm sure that the same Dell Bluetooth adapter is used in multiple models. I have a BlueAnt Q1 that connects to the laptop no problem but I have had issues with the audio being out of sync. It sometimes requires me to restart movie files 3-4 times before the audio is right or alt-tab out of games a few times. Thanks for your help!

I guess not too many people use an earpiece style bluetooth headset with their rigs. I thought there may be some other parents on here that needed to keep one ear free for the little ones.

Ah yes, I do remember those days... needing to keep an ear free was important, even when noise-cancelling headphones would have been more useful to me as a parent.
The Plantronics Voyager Pro+ that I use with my personal and work smartphones works fine on the M18x R1. It should work well on any system. -
This has been the greatest investment ever for me headset wise on a laptop. The microdongle plugs into the PC so you set it and forget it and then you can also sync up to 7 Bluetooth devices as well like your phone/tablet etc. I like them since they are not limited to just Bluetooth technology so when plugged in to the PC you can walk far from your machine and still get sound plus they have a great built in MIC that works with everything. I use them around the house to talk on the phone since they are so comfy all the time.
Sound quality is amazing and they are super light weight plus fold up for storing in a bag etc.

That looks like a really sweet stereo headset, Quad.
I think reechings was looking more specifically for a single-ear solution similar to what is used for a phone so he can keep an open ear for the little ones in the house. -
Yeah i kinda figured i was abit off the mark on that one but this headset has been such a joy to use i wanted to spread my happiness with the masses
.
They are not noise cancelling so you can still hear things around you which for some people is good and bad but i also like to have one ear open so to speak and these fit that bill nicely . -
On another note, did you see my questions on the thread about the 3720QM overclock settings? http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware-m18x/692512-i7-3720qm-es-unlocked-multiplier-8mb-l3-worth-getting-3.html
I did notice that my CPU ramps up to 4GHZ when running the Windows Experience Index so I think that Prime95 is causing the CPU to throttle as you said, If you can help me tweak my settings at all, I would greatly appreciate it! -
I have a Plantronics Voyager Pro HD that I really like and use all the time with ventrilo while playing with friends.
I set it up for voice only (in ventrilo) and game the game sound on my sound system (receiver/amplifier + speaker).
The noise cancelling is good enough on the voyager pro to not pick up game sound/music.
If you go with the voyager pro hd: DISABLE the smart sensor or risk having it being responsible for some weird stuff when paired with a PC instead of a phone (done via firmware upgrade/customization).
