What is the best mobile GPU that you can get for the m15x, and when I say GET I mean; it fits, works and you can BUY IT.

The 8800GTX is the best you can get. But, the overheating problems have yet to be solved.

not a chance for a 15.4" notebook chassis... it will only be found in 17" high-end systems.

Umm...what heating problems. Bios updates more than 6 months ago fixed any such problems, and my m15x never approaches anything above 80 while gaming. I'd say that's pretty good and well below cirtical temps. I would highly recommend getting the 8800 Its a beast.

Ha, I get more compliments about my m15x than I've ever seen anyone else get about anything.

People actually stop and ask me about my system, rather than passing by while I use yet-another-generic-laptop. Also, in my market, the only real competition that the m15x has for parts is from Dell and smaller custom manufacturers (like Sager, etc. stuff noone knows about). the only systems I've encountered even close to on par with mine have been the Dell m1330 and m1530, and a Custom sager that someone I know bought from killernotebooks.com (or something like that)...

the only one I could consider "better" is the sager, but only in regards to hardware, because he got the 8800M GTX and I only have the 8700M GT

as far as power goes, IMHO, the m15x is on-par with just about every other high-end laptop on the market (with the exception of anything running the 9800M GTX). It might not be on top of the pile, but it's definitely still about equal as far as power goes.

also, IMHO, montevina based notebooks DO NOT have any real competetive advantage over the m15x (or any SantaRosa Refresh system). the extra FSB and RAM speeds don't make significant enough of an impact to really seperate them from the pack. when they finally put DDR3 in notebooks, then maybe. until then... I don't see the big deal.

I wanted to contribute but Mystik pretty much got my point down.
