It depends how much you are willing to spend. I'm running the OCZ Vertex Turbo in my QX9300 M17. 120gb and it's fricking fast. You won't be disappointed.

I have two of the regular Vertex. The turbo's are a wee bit faster. Either way.. stick with OCZ! Awesome support and regular firmware updates.

The 'regular' OCZ Vertex is a very good SSD. The Turbo version will get you a little better performance for a little more $$$ (or in your case, £). Either one is excellent.

Does anyone know how good the one Dell uses is? I'm planning on getting an M15X and it seems like the 256gb SSD Dell uses is a good deal compared to buying one separately. Otherwise i might just get the regular hard drive and bump up the i7 to the 820qm.

Samsung PB22-J but Dell hasn't released the firmware upgrade to support Windows 7 trim on these drives yet. Other than that the drives are very good.

The Samsung SSDs are very good, don't know that they ever sold them outside OEMs though. The write speed on the Samsungs are already very good vs other SSDs and though I am sure there will be a firmware for trim support, I really don't expect too much of a speed boost on a cached drive.

The drives actually badged as Samsung are only OEMs. They are rebadged for retail. The 256GB model is the Corsair P256.

As far as trim support goes, if there is not other way of doing a "garbage collection" process (also needs to be at a certain firmware version) then the drives will eventually start to lose performance.

do you realize that neither AW M17 or OCZ whitebook have extremley outdate graphic card drivers? OCZ was unable to give us drivers. check their forum for the rants.

    Wait... what?

This is about SSDs, not about graphics cards.

Why does it matter that the AW M17 and OCZ whitebook do not have outdated graphic card drivers? I fail to see your point, regardless of thread topic. I would've thought that would be a good thing.
