I have the x32 bios and latest alienware GPU graphics update (14X.xxx) and was wondering if i would be better off with any other firmwares? My bios is rocksolid with no issues, audio sounds great, switching grahpic cards is painless, and my video performance is pretty good. On 1440 x 900 on all medium i never go below 20 fps on crysis so i am fairly pleased with my 8700 GTs performance. Also, downclocking and excessive heat does not seem to be an issue as the laptop never really gets hot while gaming (maybe i will stay with the 8700 :) ). Are the new BIOS or laptopvideo2go drivers any better?

I believe they are. Try for yourself. I'd recommend the 177.92, .98, 178.15, or 179.13 drivers.

If you chose the 179.13 driver there is no reason to modify the INF. Since it was originally made for the 8700MGT.

    Arcade!

I run a similar system to yours (with the 8700 instead of the 8800). First of all, where did you go to update your 8700 drivers, and second of all, HOW are you upgrading to 8800? Through alienware? Whats the upgrade cost on that?

    Thanks dude.

u can upgrade to the 8800 gtx by sending it into AW for around $500
