I’m just wondering if partitioning the 1TB in Alienware M17 or M17x going to affect the speed for the hard disk or not, in my M17 I did two C: with 300 GB for the OS and D: with 700 GB for my videos and music I did it using the Raid Controller that is appearing in when you boot the laptop, I mean is it OK or not, and what is the best practice for these type of HD.
Can each one of you guys post his partition size and his opinion ?

Ive always been splitting my hdd's in two, one for windows and one for games etc. Doesnt affect the speed of the hard drive. As for the sizes its up to you, depends what you will be installing on C: , how much data you got to save on D: and so on. I always went for 60gb for the OS system and the rest on D: since i install all my games and the rest of my data on D: drive and my software barely use that much space on C. Been always around the 50% usage mark on C: :)
