On Engadget, they've gotten a pretty good source saying that Dell plans to end some of their Dell XPS computers to help improve Alienware's systems and sales. So we should expect better desktop and notebook quality (and lower pricing) from Alienware if Dell chooses to end their gaming XPS.

Dell has had some amazing gaming systems, let's hope they can work some magic for Alienware.

Some people don't feel technically advanced, so they think it's a better option to just pay up the extra $$. Better safe than sorry.

I'd understand that for mom and pop who need a desktop to surf the web and pay the bills, but if you're going for "uber-gamer" status - and you are if you're buying a high end XPS or Alienware machine - learn to build (ya poser).
