So my new dell alienware m17x has two nvidia 280gtx in it as well as a intergrated nvidia 9000 series. I can see in bios that i can enable or disable the intergarted graphics as well as enable or disable the hybrid sli. i disbaled the hybrid and intergrated graphics and windows 7 does see the two 280gtx and nvidia control panel is running in sli. problem is when i try and run a windows expierence index i get the error that windows cant determine my graphics cards as well 3dmark06 is benching a little over 7k in points. what am i doing wrong here? i have the 179.85 for nvidia drivers and everything in device manager is installed. please help.

also when i had the intergrated and hybrid enabled i got the same problem. if i enable hybrid sli it automaticly enables the intergarted and windows will see all three cards and give me the hybrid options in the task bar.

I can say for certainty you do need new drivers. There are links to the 186.92 drivers somewhere in this forum.

I've disabled my integrated and had no issues.

Don't want to hijack your thread but how do you update your drivers on M17x? I mean since there are two different cards in it(in my case 1 260 GTX and 1 9400M), do you download and install them separately?

You need to use the drivers that include Hybrid SLI (Hybrid SLI is what allows you to swap between the 9400 and the 260M on the fly).

^Oh ok. I didn't know that. So you can't just go to nvidia.com and choose your card and install? Is there a place on nvidia.com that you can download the drivers that include Hybrid SLI?

any of the mobile drivers....just get the drivers for the GTX 280m (or 260m) and download them. They will also include support for the 9400m and the HybridSLI
