    Hey guys,

I've been poking around since December. Watching and waiting. Well I finaly ordered my m15x. I also took about 10 minutes after to fill out the questionnaire.

    This is what I purchased:

    [1] Area-51® m15x

    Sidebar Gadgets: CPU Meter
Time Zones: (GMT - 5.00) Eastern Time (US & Canada)
[1] Student & Faculty Offer; 5% Instant Savings

In the final question asking about how to make the AW experience better, I entered:

I've been following the history on the forums concerning the m15x. So much negative feedback! However, seeing AW-Steve and AW-Frank pop in every now and then is positive. Improvements could include more communication/activity with the community. Faster release of video drivers. Though I've only had to deal with customer support once in almost 5 years owning my current m766 and it was positive, from what I have heard and read customer service could be better. Also, removing the 15% restocking fee for defective units. If a customer receives a bad unit which passed the 200 point test, then that leaves a very bad impression, therefore how can they invest time and more money (shipping) in a product that was supposedly perfect and the best! Thank you!

Now I'm really hoping that I get one that is 100% supah, sorry NE accent coming out :)

I just ordered 4gb of RAM from Newegg.com too: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231135

Hey man good luck. Even though I have a little hate for Alienware it still is the fastest 15" notebook (if it works). I hope you are happy with your purchase because I must say that it looks like a very nice notebook.

LMAO, I'm used to 14-25 fps, with most, if not all eye candy off, during PvP madness....

    Niiice.

I'm also considering buying one, but I'm still saving up the money for it, as well as see how the improvements undergo.

And it seems like the majority of people purchasing the m15x end up with the spec of 2.5GHz and the 8800M GTX. Now my question is, is it just purely recommended to get the 2.5 to enjoy the eye candy, or can perhaps the 2.4 still provide the necessary power to provide me with ultimate viewing pleasure on a 15" lappy? :D

the 2.4 should handle fine cause a lot of the older guys chose the t7700 and that was a 2.4 with a 2MB cache. Now the 2.5 has a bigger cache than the 2.4 if you can afford it go with the 2.5

kshub i'm guessing you got your notebook today? I just ordered my m15x last night :) I got the same stuff you did except i got the 200GB hard drive but any way, could you tell me if the screen is as bad as some people make it out to be? Like when you open it does it have creaking/quality issues, thanks :)

I'm really hoping that it's not all smashed up, because the shipping label had to be replaced!

as soon as i get it, i plan on recording a video or mp3 of the sounds it makes..hope this helps!

Mine makes noises when you start moving it (i.e. it's not a continuous sound, once you've overcome the friction it's silent) but honestly that I think is overblown. I didn't even notice it until everyone on here started talking about it.

I could be wrong, but I believe that on a FedEx Home Delivery Service you can request FedEx comes at a certain time. Allowing people who work to sign for the package at a latter time in the day (As late as 8PM). Once again I could be wrong, but if your anxious to get your system give them a call and check out their options.
