    I just got off the phone ordering a smart bay battery and they gave me the option to order it with silver or black paint.

    Guess they will be coming out with the black m15x after all.

    Same here, although I just automatically assumed that the smartbay battery is the same design in the m17x, hence why it is black.

    yea alienware has a video up on youtube where they talk about the release of the m17x and they talk about coming out with a black m15x

    The lady actually ordered the black one for me because the silver was out of stock I guess. I had to call back to get them to change it to the silver. I would rather wait a few days more for the correct paint :p

    yeah - matching colors with a book is better then not - more so with the location of it and that you see it.

    but this begs the question then....will the black (IF it does surface) be an upgraded/updated version of the current silver 15?

    this was reported by someone else 2 weeks ago i think, thread name was something like "Black m15x leaked" or something...but hopefully it is coming out in black aswell!

    I said this before but I'll say it again -
    The Black Skullcap will look really good because the black will tone down the Skullcap lid and make it stealth-like !! :cool:

    This is old news guys. They had the black smartbay option way back in february when I was ordering mine. It's probably just an inventory entry that dates to when they were still trying to make their minds up on the color or back when the demo unit was black.
