Ok, I gave up looking. Does anyone know what the speeds for the blu-ray, DVD, and CD combo drives that use in this year's models or where to find it? I'm just curious after messing around with it today.

I don't know but my DVD-rom is painfully slow. Going to call up about it Monday.

Try to look for part lists for given model. E.g. M18xR2:

It is kinda supposed to be slow. The speeds are always the same and are defined by the "drive speed" multiplier regardless of the model. See this for Bluray vs DVD speeds comparison.

Multiply the 1x value by the value you're looking for (for either Bluray or DVD) and then divide by 8. This way you will get speed in MB/s, e.g. Bluray 4x -> (4 x 36)/8 = 18 MB/s
