I'll believe that when I see it, AW likes to just throw out dates, but doesn't seem to want to stand by them, I'll guess that the scene 3 gets put on back order.

mer personally, i'm not all that fussed about these BRE3D ads. they're just some fancy animated movies. nothing behind them imho.

MrDJ, after the AW experience you had, I would think you be the last person to make a thread about this. If I had the AW experience you did, my computer would be programmed to automatically shutdown if someone typed alienware.com. or alienware.anything

And I think he is just trying to show the true nature of Breed... IMAGE with no substance.

 

I will still give AW another chance someday, Maybe after all these breeds they will come out with the next 15 in, hopefully after my next semester.

These Breed videos only do what AW wants them to do anyway. Get people talking about AW. That's all they are intended for. To create some kind of buzz. To go to their site, sign up to get these breed videos, get them and watch them and then go to forums like this to stir up a buzz.

And AW sits back and say, "Yes puppets, stir about, stir about."

why so pejorative? there's really no difference between Sager putting up a banner with a link to their site and AW putting up a video with their logo in it, both are designed to capture the audience's attention and direct them toward the respective sites.

 

I'm not belittling either, I'm just saying a video is more enticing to bring customers to their site.

milcs is right. for all the new members that come here that have never heard of breed before, im just trying to show its nothing to get excited about like we all did when it first came out. think weve all grown up a little since then.

 

I don't know about this particular video though. Seems a little bit more corny than it does enticing.

 

It has to mean something. why would they be wasting time and money writing and designing these vids?

I have to agree with whizzo. Also, AW knows their target audience. and they know these videos will have them talking... kinda like we are right now. Sager on the other hand, has a much smaller market share... I know of a number of people personally who have had, or currently own Alienware computers. Just about everyone I talk to who knows computer brands has heard of it... but the same can not be said for Sager.

They have a much smaller Niche of a market than even Alienware does. not everyone buys AW machines because they're insanely powerful... in fact, I'd be certain that more than a few major clients for AW own them just as status symbols. sure, most of us buy them for the lights and the power... but that's not the case to everyone.

For those interested in something showy, AW is the ticket. The laptops stand out, and with this advertising... well, it's doing much the same. standing out.

Sager, is more power-under-the-hood, with less show... more for those who want strength more than status or fancy lights. which is a much different target market. the Ads they put up on here were effective for them, and this, breed business, is good for AW.

I know it doesn't really mean anything, but saw an Alienware / Breed 3 ad in Game Informer at the bookstore today. It said go to the site to view part 3, "REVELATION", but (shock) still isn't out yet. So any day now I guess. But the main thing is it wasn't a bad lookin ad, kinda cool in a vague poster-ey kinda way.

 

tomorrow is the last day of september so lets see if it comes out tomorrow.

Well its out now, I watched and its like the others - completely pointless, just random mechanized eye candy. Very strange to run print ads to have people log on to see... nothing, really.

 

Ahah... One can't avoid laughing. Everyone knows nothing will come out of it, but there are always so many that keep hoping. Oh well... AW is only about image. And, it works...

 

well i just saw it.

They're finally in the "birth room". Next Breed will probably be about desktop upgrades or something, then the one in November will be about the m15x (it says starring Area-51 and m15x, so the videos with the m15x have to be coming soon)...

 

bah, it's october in London now, aint it.

 

remember the vids on the intro pages for the desktops and laptops on the alienware website? i think the breed series is just what goes on before you get the intros...just waste of time, nothing else

who cares about another desktop, I want to see laptops, b3 was lame if u ask me, and their all too short.
