Breed 2 Out, New Notebooks Confirmed

Today Alienware launched Breed 2! Considering the fact that Alienware added a press section and that Breed is finally about to reveal something, something new is coming from Alienware. In the original Breed discussion, the most obvious thing from Alienware's hints and clues was that a new m15x was coming. There's a lot of things out that lead to Alienware refreshing both of their notebooks, but when will we see them?

In a magazine interview, Alienware was asked if this was lead to anything about their products. Their response?

Q: Behind every marketing campaign there’s a product. Is Breed designed to push Alienware desktops, or notebooks as well?

A: You can think of the desktops as star and notebooks as co-star, but notebooks are also in there through the mainbody of the journey. You’ll see the unique way they get transported to different rooms using alien technology.

I would guess that they'll transport the m15x and m17x into different rooms and upgrade the CPU, video cards, colors, etc. in each room.

 

lets see how long it will take to release the new "stuff"

 

Interesting. As a new m15x owner though I hope it's not going to be anytime soon.

Well, it's great that they're introducing new stuff to mix it up. I just don't want to feel gay if something better comes along at the same price. Although, it's natural, I suppose, I just want to enjoy my m15x for a while.

because of the imminent arrival of the new clevo/sager i wonder if they are starting to kack it slightly and rushing a teaser out to try and hold on to as many new customers as possible.

we will wait and see.

 

well a continuous wait strategy can backfire as well.
to be honest, i was not taken aback by breed 2. too much hype in my opinion...

 

I would just like to make a quick question to the OP, as I'm a bit surprised.
So, you state very boldly that new laptops have been confirmed.
Would you care to elaborate on that and back up that claim?
Because I've watched Breed2, I've read interviews, etc etc... And all I could gather is that this is a marketing campaign.

So, if you would care to share with us where did you get the solid information you gathered, to announce that "New Notebooks Confirmed", that would help us all and do a lot for the sakes of clarification and accurate information.

yeah, nothing in that press release says there are new notebooks coming. i'm with milcs here, it's just a publicity stunt.

 

agree as well with milcs and whizzo.

the only thing they have done for any updates to the books are the quad gpu and now the 128G ssd.

if they do not make a GREAT change soon, there market share will drop.

tbh I aint to bothered either way, they are good looking animations and show of the AW screens well. If they release new computers well fair enough after all there is nothing stopping them. From a point of view of a marketing stratergy its working very well I mean you are all talking about it. It only needs a few different people to set off a few rumors to get people talking. For example if people didnt read down the from the first post they might go tell a friend that their will be a new pc or whatever so I think what ever happens it's good for Alienware.

 

Even if it is a marketing campaign for new notebooks or PCs, Alienware has a solid record of hyping something 6 months before actually releasing product.

 

What is important to clear out, is where did the OP gathered the information to say that there are new notebooks confirmed. One thing is conveying information, the other is just conveying information that someone makes up.
For the sake of transparency and to keep this forum an informative one, a clarification on this issue is needed.

From now on I will not buy Alienware until i come read here for the troubles it could cause.

When i bought my m15x I did it out of AW reputation and didnt even bother to read the downside of owning one.

My m15x is more of a malignant cancer than a pleasure, Once bitten twice shy.

 

the only thing in there about notebooks is that they get "transported to different rooms using alien technology". which, at least to me, does not imply in any way or form that new notebooks are coming.

 

whatever it is it wont be for a while yet as we are only on scene 2 and it sounds like there are quite a few more scenes to come. maybe christmas time we will have more of an idea.

 

well remember last year with the m15x and m17x? they had a show in november with a "release date for q1". so, knowing alienware they might release something for february march maybe easter 2009...I dont really see something coming before.why? because they are REALLY SLOW.........
