Breed- General Discussion

Hey Everybody.

I noticed that there is a lot of talk going on about the new breed campaign, but it is always in different topics and forums. So I thought it might be a good idea to make a thread the encompasses all things breed- for easy reference and such. So if you guys see anything interesting going on about breed, post it here so that it can be discussed independently of the other topics.

To begin, we have probably all seen Episode 1, and to my knowledge- and as of this writing- I do not believe that there has been an Ep. 2 put up. Once there is someone should post about it...

 

Breed is just another propaganda campaing from AW to throw dirt into people's eyes and make their attention deviate from the worst failure they have ever created in their history... the M15x.
That is my opinion...

 

as i have said in other posts...
it means diddly until some sort of product is presented. until then it is simply a short film done by computer graphics.

milcs: gotta move on man. there has been NO company in the history of the world that has not produced something that was a failure or prone to issues. while your experience has been more on the negative (it appears as such due to your negative postings against AW), not everyone has had the same nor will they. several people are not happy with AW, but then on the flip side, there have been numerous positive postings regarding the product.

that said, i agree the breed mini film is pathetic and not doing anything of benefit to current customers nor offering anything new.

i hate it when i get interrupted - lose my train of thought...

 

oh come on! The m15x is far from the worst as you say and even if it is that just goes to show how great they are. I think its just something for marketing/fans and I think its cool.

 

i have said i like the short film, but aside from that it really is nothing worth the hype right now.

its akin to showing the tailight on a new car....ooooooooo a tailight (weeeeeeeee)....im soooooo excited....not!

 

Let's just try to keep it to our own opinions regarding what this "Breed" thing is... I have mine, you have yours. Let's not debate each other's opinions. There's no point really... At least, it won't change what I think about AW!

To finish... of course everyone makes mistakes and every company put out one of this "failures" at some point in time... But it's how AW deals with it that is just shocking. Several construction problems that have been more than reproduced and what do they do? Bios here, new flashy webpage there, new pointless animation...
I've been around since February and, very rarely, I saw anything significant being done.

And that's all... in my (very humble) opinion, AW proved to be only about brand name and image. And I don't give any credit to companies that live mainly of it.

 

Milcs got to disagree even if the m15x is a wide a failure as you view alienware has been around for well over 10years now and a refresh of the m15x is at least going to have a attempt to make to product gain in value/quality.

They may not make the case solid metal or some thing but they will at least try and do some thing positive for the product other than just image.

I'm looking forward to this refresh and i'm hopefully that it will contain both a image refresh in case design and a hardware refresh in at least gfx card and possibly some joints/hinges/speakers etc


i start back at studies in a week and really wanted to have my m15x in time however from passionate feedback from mainly you i've decided to wait.. and i hope your loud warnings will pay of for me in the end if this refresh fixes lots of the issues u have clearly layed out in a number of treads and i'm very thankful for this .. Just hope its soon!

 

My frustrations aside, I do honestly hope that the Breed is a bit more than just image strategy. I think all of the M15x owners (and prospective owners alike) deserve something solid.
Also... for everyone that dreams of AW as being the best of computer gaming, I do hope they manage to bring the dreams back to many people that woke up to a nightmare (like myself).
I can only wish AW and everyone else in here... good luck for the future and may it be very bright.

 

By the time the refresh comes out, Nehalem will probably be out

 

They could certainly do more (but this goes for most companies) as for a refresh fixing the hinges is a must in my book it sounds like every single m15x creaks! Not sure they should change the looks much (probably just add black)

i didnt see much of black in number 1...but hey there were wallpapers available that showed the same scenes in white..like the alien head n everything.. maybe it was just my monitor's brightness..

 

go for the m17x it will blow anyone m15x skull cap away.

 

i really want it to be black mattee ive waited so long ..

9800 GT or 9800 GTX would also be very nice.

i dont care about CPU overclocking the 2.5gig cpu option is more than enugh.. and quadcore is pointless in a batterylife/gaming notebook

I pulled both this and the "new one" up in Photoshop and ran posterize over both. The gradient on the lid of both laptops is virtually identical. To say nothing of the ports and the text issue that others have already pointed out.

It sucks that AW currently offers every single one of their notebooks in black - except for the one I actually want.

 

Dang Alienware-Breed I think you need your eyes checked. That picture you have is a M17X not a M15X.

On the M17x The lock is up and down not at a angle like the M15x. The M15X has 5 ports on the side The M17X has 7 Ports. I added the medea reader and 7 in 1 also.

 

uh... i think he knew full well that that's not the m15x....

 

Just useing my laptop to map the side and you know how some people go I dont beleave you bla bla bla. So just backing u up.
