So basically I am trying to talk my wife into letting me buy an m15x over an m11x and so am trying to build one that is reasonable (1600ish after epp and haggling on phone). I have a few questions though.
1. i7-620m 2.66ghz and 17-720qm quad core 1.6ghz are same price? What are the differences and which one should I buy?
2.WideHD vs WideFHD screen? How much of a difference and is it worth the extra money?
3.Should I just get the 3GB DDR3 Ram and stick another 3GB from newegg in on my own or will that even same me any money? Is there a better way to do this? Is this a fairly simple procedure? (I have changed RAM on a desktop years ago).
Also are there any other ways to save money on this? or is there another system I should be looking at that is a better deal? I plan on using this as a gaming/school/browsing computer while at work (I have a job with a lot of downtime and 24hr shifts).

1. the 720 is quad while the 620 is duo
2.not sure but always get the best screen since youll be looking at that the most.
3. it would save you some money i would think. and i do believe its just a matter of popping in the right sticks is all.
4. besides epp and coupons your best bet is haggle. Tho there is a 10% cash back on bing check out the saving money thread for this question -
1. 620 is a higher clocked duo core, 720 is a lower clocked quad core
720 is recommended.
2. if you get blueray than 1080 is a must, but for gaming the 900 is better.
3.if you order 3gb ram you will get one 2gb + 1gb sticks, so buying another 3gb stick would not work. sugeest getting at least 4gb from the start. 2+2gb sticks.
try to look at these lappy too: Clevo W870CU or Asus G73. around same price, with better gpu.
