    When your alienware laptop arrived....
Did you pay customs, or any other fees, taxes and so on.
    Specifically those in ONTARIO.

Also which shipping company did Alienware use?

Quick primer. Remember how you paid Canadian taxes on your notebook when you ordered it?

CBSA (Canadian Border Services Agency) cannot change you a customs fee as you have already paid taxes. That would essentially mean the government would be 'double dipping' and that would be quite illegal.

A customs fee is charged if you have not paid taxes on an item. That's why when you bring things back from the States and you've gone over the allotted ammount you are allowed to buy without paying taxes, you'll have to pay the taxes on the other items.

Example: You buy $500 worth of games when you are gone for five days. You are only allowed $400. You will pay the ammount you have gone over, so you will pay taxes on $100.

The long and the short of it is, no you will not pay a customs fee because you already have when you purchased your notebook to begin with.

This information is both from my experience, and my parents, one of whom is a military officer and the other works in CBSA.

I hope this is clear, I'm half asleep at the moment, so my spelling is far from perfect.

I'm in ontario. Shipping went smoothly, and no extra charges were to be paid when the laptop arrived...

If I recall correctly, the shipment was tagged so that any and all customs fees were to be billed directly to SHIPPER, not the person being shipped to.

You should be ready to go when it arrives.

No additional taxes paid for me in Ontario either. Shipping handled by fedex with a 1 business day delivery :)
