Every time I hit CAPS or NUM lock, there's a little display in the bottom right that indicates that its on or off. For games that require me to toggle CAPs for different functions, it interrupts the game every time I do it. I don't remember my machine doing this before, but I had to do a system restore a few days ago to get it to boot. How can I disable this?

This may be a feature of Alienware OSD. You can disable OSD from starting with Windows using MSCONFIG. If you do that some of your FN keys and touch panel buttons will not work. You can create a desktop shortcut for OSD to launch it manually.
The easier approach would be to change the game configuration to use a different key that does not interact with OSD if that is an option. -
Nope... scratch that. I just remembered the fix for this. I haven't needed to do it for a while. Believe it or not, it's part of the WIDCOMM Bluetooth driver software, LOL.
Launch regedit and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WIDCOMM\BTConfig\General
Find the KeyIndication regkey and double-click it. Change the 1 to a 0 (zero) and reboot. No more on-screen pop-up indicator.

EDIT: It doesn't affect me in skyrim, but does in Deux EX. Odd ey? -
This works 100% of the time for me. Neither Caps Lock nor NumLock has a pop-up when this is disabled.
You rebooted, correct? If not, you need to for the changes to take effect. -
I have not rebooted. I will in a bit ^.^

That's easier than changing the DWORD value to 0. Seems to have the same end result, but it's good knowing the easier way that you posted. I've saved it for future reference.
Staying out of the registry as much as possible is probably a good thing for a lot of folks. -
Restarting worked fine. Thanks
