So basically, I have shot myself in the leg, while setting a new array for my hard drives, i left my Fallout 3 disc in the slot loaded drive of the m17x. Thus removing the OS. So now i Have the disk's formatted the way I want...But NO OS and no ability to remove the disc. Any help I would LOVE. Thanks and I'm freaking out!

Is there a way to open it if you take the drive out?

i think I actually can. Under Bios there is a USB emulation and here is a summary of the description: This option defines how in the absence of a USB aware operating system, USB emulation is always enabled during POST. NOTE: You cannot boot any type of USB device/floppy/CD when this option is off.

SO does this mean i can..?

And people were wondering why I was asking if the slot loaded drive had the typical "paperclip" manual eject hole that normal drives had. I saw this coming a mile away.

Clauss, get partitionsplitter, its a small linux utility to mess with partitions etc and tell you about your storage devices - dvd - disks - hdds, everything, exit it and when it brings up the message with options for shuting down, eject and reboot, if not go into the partition splitter console and see if there is an eject command which i believe there is, especially with linux.

Also someone in the m17x forum said, hold the eject button and reboot but keep the button held, not sure if it works.

Hey, thanks for the responses. I found one that people suggested it seems simple. It is a linux version, I really don't even know how to boot from a USB. Is there a certain button I need to press to activate it? Also i hope I can figure outlinux, or else i will just spam the eject button.

It would have took you less time/effort/stress to open up the notebook and pop out the CD manually.

Seriously? but the most I've done is put in RAM. So for me to disassemble like half the computer. It seems quite daunting. Think any store around me could do it? Geeksquad..nah probably useless. Hmm

A simple eject command will suffice, be stupid to rip it appart juts for a disk, you should be able to set boot order in bios for usb to be read first :D

This partition splitters a great tool to use though, its just a small interface, thats it :D Should be able to eject the disk.
