Is it stuck that way or does it go back down? You can check with task manager if there are any background processes that are chewing up resources.

it's stock approximately at 40%, and then its going up and down to 80% - 100% all the time.

i checked the task manager and there is nothing.

Do you know if the system is doing a windows update? My desktop in my sig would sometimes get owned by automatic windows update until I forcefully disabled it.

If it keeps up you can always do a clean install since it is still brand new. Just back up and reinstall your OS.

my windows update is set to download but don't install.

i dont know if this helps figuring out whats wrong, but i read on another forum, that if you take out the battery and holds the turn on button for 30 seconds, you could reset the pc. i did that and it worked for some hours and then it went back again. :(

So it never goes back down to like 10% or so, always 40% or above right?

Have you tried running a spyware program or anti-virus to see if your system is infected?

thats right it doesn't go back.

i ran an AVG Free Test 3 days ago, so that should not be the problem

Oh the little gadget meter with the ram usage too right? Yeah I use that too, it's pretty accurate. You know I'm stumped on this one. I think others might have a better idea of what's going on but like I said, it's new so a reinstall wouldn't be such a bad idea.
