I'm looking to upgrade my m15x's T8100 processor with something better, obviously. But im a little stumped in deciding which one i should buy. I am currently considering the T9600 from newegg or something else of the site: http://http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&SubCategory=759&N=2010340759&SpeTabStoreType=1 (Also im wondering if any of these are even compatible :p)
Or if you guys have a better suggestion on which one i should buy feel free to give me thoughts. Also i have NO intention on buying the x9000, because it is just simply TOO EXPENSIVE, and one last question. Is the CPU self-upgradable? My warranty has expired.

As far as i know the area 51 m15x chipset(965) only supports processors with BUS speed 800 MHz whereas T9600 has a BUS speed of 1066 MHz.

So your best bet would be T9500 or T9300 both have BUS speed of 800 MHz.
These are the next best to X9000.
They are both available in EBAY (both OEM as well as ES).

Edit- If you have replaced CPU in desktop then replacing them in laptop is not a big deal as it is basically replacing the CPU in a cramped up space.

    Peace~

I put an T9500 in mine. A really nice upgrade. Win7 feels so much smoother with it :), oh I bought it on Ebay too, was no problem.
