Any m7700a Aurora owners still out there or am I the last one standing? Come out from under your rocks wherever you are and be heard!

my friend has one of these...just helped him replace the 6800 Ultra haha

It was fun to work with and that CPU cooling is SICK but it is a little too....well, old for my hardware wants (thus my shiny M17x)

So, I am "THE ONE", huh? LOL...oh well. I do try to stretch my laptops as far as they'll go.

I am frothing at the mouth for an M17x, but I'm trying to maintain discipline to see if Dell figures out anything on the DPC latency issue. Also, I'm hoping there might be some nice incentives for either Black Friday or the rest of the Xmas shopping season.

lol, I still remember when this notebook came out. It was soooo cool to have dual dvd burners and the fact that they were basically on top of each other was bad a.s.s too and it looked bad a.s.s. too!! lol.

i dont own a Ferrari 250 GTO... i wish. i dont have 20+mill to drop on a Ferrari.

Overall my m5790 has been fine. but it very badly overheats and 2 graphics cards have gone bad, it also runs so loud that it sounds like a ricer or a jet engine.

'ive babied it for all the years ive had it and i have done everything i can to fix but there is nothing i can do about it.

I assume you've done the thermal paste thing for both the CPU and GPU chips?

The Aurora is one big dust black hole. Ever since I've owned it I haven't had to dust the furniture in the house. All of the dust ends up in the fans/heat sinks of the Aurora. Have to clean it out every two months or so. Over time, all of the thermal cycles and cranking on the video card mounting posts took its toll and broke off 3 of the 4 posts at the solder joint. I had them re-soldered at the risk of completely hosing the motherboard, but I got lucky.
