The 372/40QM and the 382/40QM is (~400MHz w/multiplier), the 3610QM isn't. So there is a big chance that the 3630QM is locked.

Well crap.... I knew I should have got the 3720.... Didnt know 37 and above only were overclockable.... Might as well wait till I need to upgrade and just get an XM. Even going to a 3720 is gonna be expensive.....

They are just really expensive. Gonna be awhile before I can justify spending that kinda of money especially when this rig beats down everything Ive throw at it so far. Im not much on benching so this is awesome for now till I get that itch lol

Damn sure does. Does Dell sell the CPU and GU cheaper than ebay? The TPHS is much cheaper from dell than ebay I know that.

Is MSRP cheaper than ebay? For example the TPHS on ebay I saw was $75 when getting it through Dell brand new was $45.

In most case no, that seller just wants a crazy amount, honestly i would normally go with the supplier vs a 3rd party if it was cheaper.

For parts getting them from the manufacturer is going to cost the most.

100mhz, the 3720qm up to the 3840qm can have an extra 400mhz added onto their turbo clocks. The 3840qm is 100mhz faster than the 3740qm (and has an extra 2mb of cache).

Only the 3920xm and 3940xm are unlocked totally and can be clocked up to the limits of your PSU/cooling.

For the to performance it looks like a 3920xm is the best value by far.

Per $ no way, the 3740qm at 3.9 ghz 4 core turbo gets pretty close to the thermal limits of most machines and is a fraction of the cost of a 3920xm.
