I want to change my order with AW on the m15x (ordered it last Fri), I want to change the processor to 2.5ghz & to a 3 year warranty. I sent'em an email yesterday & got two emails back, one was an automated email & the other was a update contact details email click link to see prnt scrn of email:

I clicked on the link in the email which said log into our support site & change your password, clicking here.
So I did but it just comes to page like in the pic below but I can't click any of the tabs (apart from the help tab) cause they just redirect me to the chat page, I've even tried pasting the link in IE but no luck:

I've also tried going to the site & clicking support area & trying to login in with details provided but that doesn't work either.
So can anybody tell me what this User I.D. & password is for & where do I use it?

Hi Darkfly
if i was you i would'nt bother with the email and ring their customer service directly as you can never trust that someone will read the emails.
direct number from the uk is 0800 279 9751
follow the phonline guide and once you speak to a real person ask them to confirm your alteration by sending you an email.
like a lot of members on here you will soon get to remember their number off by heart. -
Definitely not leave this change to the fate of the e-mails you send them.
Hell, I've heard of cases when even when you called them they failed to process the order change. My advice is to call them and make this change and then a day later call again to check that the change has been processed. And then maybe.. 2 days later call again.. just to make sure your order hasn't been cancelled.

I'll call'em later today then but still I'm puzzled by that username & password thing.

look here: http://support.alienware.co.uk/Prof...l=/Support_Pages/Restricted_Pages/myhive.aspx
i might be wrong but i dont think you can actually log in until you have received your system.

as far as I can tell that link goes to their service site for which you already need an account for (i.e. already have the computer in hand). If you call them, ask them about it because I would also like to know what the heck you are suppose to do with that link!

Once you receive your computer and on the box which AW used to ship your computer to you there will be a number. You have to use that number to set up your account at first.

Darkfly,
As people have mentioned, you usually can't created a support account until you have recieved your system. I'm not sure what the email is about but if you could send me your account info I can look into it and try to get an explanation. My email address is [email protected] -
Changed the processor & warranty over the phone & they said the shipping date is still 24th Apr, so I'm happy & almost £300 poorer.
& Alienware-Steve I sent you an email.
Can anybody help with puzzling AW email?
