I found this notebook for sale locally.
He is wanting to sale it for $300.
But I am really unsure on the model and specs.
All he could tell me was that it has a 3.2GHz processor.
Could anyone fill me in on what model this could be and maybe what its worth.
    Thanks!

Looks to be an Alienware Area-51m. It is very old, perhaps from around 2003-2004. It is definitely not worth $300. It has a Pentium 4 CPU and Radeon 9700 graphics.

It isn't any good for gaming. But it could be a collectable item :p

    But it's not worth $300.

I actually have a simmilar question about this one, I believe it to be around a 15x r3 but I'm not sure, I know its not a 17/18 inch one. and what do you think about the price he is asking.

Looks like a M11x of some sort.

If you want to find out which one, ask if it has a VGA port and also ask what graphics card it has if you can.

its a m11x, but he doesn't know which revision or what graphics card it has which I find kind of suspicious. he says hes had it for a year so its either a r3 or a r2, I don't know when the 11x's came out so I don't know when the revision years switched, is their a way I can tell him how to check from the computer or get him to give me his service tag.

Edit: its a m11x r2 with a gt 335m, I don't think its worth it, but thats just my opinion

As Namaiki said, ask if it has a VGA port, only the M11x (first one) had one.
And if the laptop is working, i'm sure he won't mind turning it on and check the CPU model in order to confirm if it's a R2 or R3.

As for the first one you posted, that is a beautiful area-51 m5500 (766 version).
Nowadays is not worth 300$ but it sure is a collectible :D

If it is in great condition like it appears to be in those photos, I'd prefer to pay $300 for that collectible m5500 rather than pay $300 for some cheap crackerbox with a wimpy AMD CPU and IGP. As old as that bad boy is, it will probably still run faster than the current $300 laptops, and it would be a lot more fun to use.

Yep, that's the legendary Alienware skullcap design.
