Has anyone tried to cancel an order from Dell in production as I changed a couple of items in a new configuration which will be shipping later. I was told to return to sender but I was worried about being charged a restocking fee. It doesn't seem right that an order that is not shipped would be charged for restocking. What do you guys think?

Your best bet is to call and ask/negotiate as it's not up to us to decide whether you'll be charged or not a restocking fee.

IMO you should be fine seeing that you're canceling to reorder but better make sure first ;)

    cheers

I tried 5 times. they opened a case for me saying if I don't return it I could recieve 150 dollars off my purchase. Which I decided to take that foffer and went with the 150 off. I tried so many times to cancel in production, nobody could help even though I got mixed results.

Thank you guys for the feedback. It looks like they will ship it out and I will need to send it back.

I think part of it is that the guy that takes the order could be here in the US or in Mumbai or wherever, but once you click place order on the website - it seems they send it off to their factory in China - at least that seems to be where all of my Dell / AW gear ever comes from.

I guess they would rather you keep it + pay you little extra, than them having to either resell it via outlet or breaking it back down and recycling the parts (which they might not even be allowed or able to do once it's built)
