    Hi Guys,

Have recently had a strange noise when starting up my M17x. It sounds like there's a wire inside catching on the fan of one of the graphics cards.

Have taken the underside off the case but am unable to take the surround off to reveal the graphics cards. I removed the star-shaped screws but couldn't prise it off.

Anyone else had this issue or at least figured out how to take the panel off?

    Thanks

This happened to me also, but there was no caught wiring. Turned out the bearings in the fans died. Dell Tech Support came out and replaced all 3 fans. The_Moos guide is really good, pretty much did exactly what the tech guy did.
