    I just ordered an M17x, hooray :)

No matter what happens, I'm sure I'll be very happy with the laptop, but I may be able to spend a few hundred in the next few days to try upgrade it to an M18x. Obviously this is only possible if I can change my order.

    Can it be done?

Some reps will. Some won't. But you can always return it and reorder a new one.

It's best to figure out what you want right away so time is not being taken away from precious laptop time.

The real question is which laptop do you need? The M17 has some portability. The M18 has none. If you aren't taking it anywhere and you have the cash go 18. If you move it around, get a 17.

Agreed. It really depends on if you are planning to take it out every day. And if that jourmey involves public transport! If your in a car then therir isnt much difference. If your putting it on your back for distance then the m17 is a better choice.

Whats the difference between a 17 and 18? I take my m18x to work every day, no problems.

I'd call and try to get it changed, and if it can't call again and again...shipping/build time takes a long time and it will be a huge hassle to wait and return your m17x
