So I'm running stock AW drivers what came with my system, and I can play all my steam games just perfect, but when I try to play empire total war on maxxed settings its pretty laggy, now im wondering if I change to new drivers will I see a change? I'm pretty hesitant to change drivers and mess with the system because I don't want to break it after a week of having it. thanks

Changing your drivers won't hurt anything. You need to go to device manager and uninstall your video adapter drivers. Then use the free program "driver sweeper" to make sure all traces of the old drivers are gone. Restart and you'll see basic vga video output onyour laptop. That's what you want. Now install the ATI 9.1 drivers or whatever drivers you want to use. I like the 9.1's that were modded by E-Wrecked. AllI can say is I get much better performance with these drivers. I don't know about Empire total war cause I don't play it.

EDIT: What system do you have?
If you have a M15x or 17x then use my info, if you have a M17 with the Ati cards use Rob's instructions

The AW stock drivers are old, get new ones from http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/ or Nvidia

If you use the ones from LV2G then you will need to install with the modified .inf, there is a how to on the site. Or the easy way would be downloading a DOX driver.

You will notice a difference in temps when idle since the new drivers downclock when not under load. This also helps battery life. But you will not notice the FPS difference.

that could be partially why that cpu is lower end and AOE EATS UP some cpu try the drivers and let us know.
