Can this chassis handle a powder coating?

I saw someone else do it on the M15x but I don't know if the materials changed for the casing since then.

    For which model?
Powder coating involves 'baking' the part so it has to be metal.

Dell AW laptops you can powder coat are:
    M15x, M17x, M17x R2 and M18x.

I would advise if you are going to powder coat it yourself to put a screw in place to make it easier of not having to get the paint out of the threads.

np. after watching various build shows and wonder why the hell they don't do it... Get some crapp screws that you use over and over and then you don't have to rethread them...

No, not everything. Only the Alienware models that have the metal chassis, and only the metal part of the lid and base. You cannot powder coat plastic.
