    Greetings,

As an owner of the m17x (testing it thoroughly before reviewing it =D), I have a problem that is a burden I have been carrying for the last week or two.

The beautiful matte black finish, tends to have ALOT of greasy fingerprints, and wiped out fingergrease on it ='<
I tried cleaning it with a dampened synthetic throw-away cotton-ish cloth, but it seems like it's leaving beind "stripes", as if the white of the chalk in the water is leaving a lighter mark where I wiped a bit harder ...
I also tried cleaning it with throw-away dampened cleaning cloths for glasses, but it has the same effect ='<

So whilst I am thinking back nostalgicly about my out-of-the-box-clean m17x, I ask you : How do I make her clean again?

Awaiting an answer, I greet you
    Bed.

Try CRC's "CO Contact Cleaner". Its meant for cleaning electronic parts and contacts, but I found it to be extremely effective in dissolving grease & oils on my m15x.

    hope this helps

BE AWARE !!: some contact cleaners affect paint... (M15X has a different paint finish "more resistant transparent layer")
    :(

I Think its better to do it with Monsterclean and a Microfiber cloth
    or with this product http://www.plexusplasticcleaner.com/frames.html
it is a little stronger but not aggressive at all, and of course also with Microfiber cloth
i use Plexus myself it's great stuff, i have used it on my M9750 and on my M17X similar paintings on both notebooks.

I use the lense cleaning cloth I got from Eyemasters with my glasses. You can buy the kit seperately. I have several cases with piano like finish and it cleans without damaging the finish. Just rub it in a circular pattern. I also wash them seperately from my laundry. Gentle wash by hand or with my wife's "intimates". Keeps the fibers loose. And smells nice ;)

I recommend a microfiber cloth, the kind that you can use for cleaning glasses. I have a "shaggy" microfiber cloth and it gets rid of all the grease on my eyeglass lenses, computer screens and glossy plastic finishes without using cleaners or leaving scratches.

If you have a whitebook just be careful with the bleach and they will come out beautiful.
