Simply put, the colors on my screen just aren't that accurate when compared to other monitors. I tried some tweaking in the Nvidia Control Panel, but it still doesn't come out right...what should I do? I like to work in Photoshop, but I can't color with confidence when I get the feeling it'll look different on other screens.

Try using Adobe Gamma to set your color profiles. It comes with PhotoShop.

in my office, i see purple and it prints blue...
and what makes it more funny is that i get different shades of blue pending how old the cartridge is...
i pretty much give up on trying to calibrate colors...
pantone has some screen utility... meh... not quite happy with it... -
The M9700 / M9750 have actually been known to have very poor color accuracy. Try purchasing a adjuster and it should help the colors a lot.
