those are all desktop cards, mate... subsequently, you can't apply the results to mobile GPUs.

For the most part they are pretty close I believe they use the same core.

For example the 8800M GTX is just a G92 Desktop 8800GT declocked with a few less shaders.

but the architecture is fairly close

it's way harder than you think.

due to size and heat issues need to be addressed in mobile version, there are lot of challenges to make it to laptop.

He knows now that mobile and desktop cards aren't the same. The epic fail was getting rid of that quad core setup.

hmm too bad the 3870x2 fail in nvdia based games (which most are) you cant turn on aa or af or your game dies pretty much. and the qx9300 cant be overclocked. not to mention 4870 is being released in a month

If anyone takes a look at the link I listed it covers the performance of mobile GPUs.

    Are you retarded JellyBeans?

First of all, the 3870s do NOT fail at nvidia based games. They are very powerful and perform just as well as nvidia cards.

Second, yes, you can turn on AA and AF without the game dieing. People are maxing out games with AA with the 3870X2.

Third, yes it can. It just can't in the m17 because Alienware locked the multplier.

4th, NO. It's coming out for the OCZ Whitebook next MAY.
    Remember, JellyBeans, a month is 31, 30, 29 or 28 days. Not 90.

Btw, did you ever go to school?

Nice, Qaz. Did that idiot really get banned?

Also, aren't the M17 and the OCZ the same laptop, rebranded? Would that mean/not mean the 4870 would fit in the M17 as well?

    Pretty much.

Alienware is a rebrand with the 1440x900 option (which I can not find anywhere else. If someone finds this option elsewhere, let me know asap), and a custom/locked bios. Outside of that, internally, they are identical.

Externally, you get the skullcap lid and matte finish along with the whole Alienware "experience" (YMMV). ;)

well, he had more or less moved on to spamming etc.

yes, same lappy, so the 4870 should be available in the m17 as well.

well we can't be sure, since AW rarely gives out infos like this, but if XoticPC does, it stands to reason AW can do it as well.
