I was wondering about something from the first day i got the laptop. So far i was ignoring it but i think its time to see if anyone else knows more about it.

As you can see when you get the computer there are some realtek WLAN drivers installed. Also if you check under device manager you are going to see that the wireless card is an Intel 5300...

AW provides both drivers in myhive the intel ones and the realtek ones. What are those drivers for ? One apparently is for the wireless card, so whats the other one doing there ? Also, removing one of them causes the wireless to stop working.

    Any ideas ? :p

the Intel 5300 is an upgrade over the standard (realtek) wifi card. i'm guessing AW loads both drivers to save time.

You ever tried uninstalling both and reinstall Intel to see what happens?

The intel drivers are for 5100 and 5300 cards.

Dont remember E to be honest :p Not sure if they conflict when you uninstall one of them, gotta try it.

Also, any idea how its possible the realtek drivers AW are newer than the drivers in realteks home page ?! :p
