    Confused about video drivers (64bit windows7)

    Hello,

    I have installed the latest geforce nvidia gtx 260m drivers on my alienware m17x although in device manager the display adapters drop down tells me i have a nvidia geforce 9400M G?

    Ok so i worked out that the 9400M G is the integrated graphics card... why isnt my main one working or how do i get my laptop to recognise the real one?

    Are you in stealth mode? Make sure you aren't.

    Is hybrid SLI enabled in your bios? It needs to be.

    Im not in stealth mode as far as i know, also i have a single 260m card so do i still need to enable SLI? im not very comp savvy, sorry :p




    edit: problem solved! i just had to disable both hybrid and integrated graphics cards in the BIOS and then my computer enabled the discrete graphics card!

    good. But hybrid should allow you to use the 260m anyway.
