I have an older MiniDV camera and a lot of tapes I would like to copy over to my laptop. The camera has a DV port and comes with a thunderbolt lead with larger thunderbolt connector at the other end.
My laptop has a USB-C / Thunderbolt 3 connector at the back.
How can I connect the older Thunderbolt cable to my laptop ? Of course I will need an adaptor of some description but am not sure what.

You need a capture card, USB wont pass the video.
If the camera has composite output, you can buy a cheapo composite capture card. -
