Good morning gents where can I get the cooling pads for a GPUs RAM and artic" ice that you are all fond of using. I just purchased 1 GTX 280 for my M17x and I want to make sure that it is installed correctly. Thank you for the guidance.

If it's AS5 or arctic silver 5 you're talking about you can buy it at Radio Shack now or just about any computer shop, also tons of places online. You may want to check out some others like OCZ Freeze, Tuniq TX-4, and MX-3 as they seem to give a bit better results and don't have to cure for 200 hours.

    Hey theres chiefs,

I bought those pads the other day and their working great. Also I have been experimenting with many pastes. I've been using AS5 for a while now since it is really easy for me to purchase down at my local store. Whereas the other great pastes I have to order online and wait for them to ship.

However I can recommend the other pastes like Shin Etsu and Tuniq TX-4. I have seen many super results with uses using them over AS5. I myself just got 2 tubes of Shin Etsu delivered today and I just finished pasting my 2 notebooks. Awesome results straight away. The temps were about 10 degs lower already I was surprised. I ended up using like 2 sticks of the shin etsu. I have another 5 tubes ordered and waiting to be delivered.

I also bought the Tuniq TX-4 and will try them once they arrive. I bought 2 sticks of them I sure hope thats enough. I have heard and seen wonder rave reviews about them. So I'm expecting awesome temps. Its great timing too as temps are starting to really warm up down here. Getting really really hot now. So I want to keep my notebooks nice and cool which also helps keep the fan noise down to a minimum. ;) :D

I also believe your new 280m GTX needs the 1.0mm pads. So your good to go chiefs. Enjoy.

    Cheers. :)
