    So i want to do the copper mod for my quad core, im wondering if Gauge 16 & Grade C106 - 14x14x1.5mm. would fit the northbridge. on the dell laptop they used this for the processor, i wanna no if its the same


    P.s: i would appreciate it if someone could post a picture of the northbridge chip

    sorry i just feel bad because nobody reply you i don't know about the m17 but i did the copper mod to my m17x because the temperatures of my chipset or nvidia 9400 was to hi almost 80c i use a 1 mm tick copper and replace the cheap thermal pad and i use artic silver 5 now the temperatures on the chipset are from 65 to 68 maximum but think about this if you going to use your machine for games just turn off your northbridge on the bios and use your graphic cards on sli or crossfire depend on the brand :)

    You cannot turn of your northbridge ... it is needed to transfer data from the CPU to for example the ram.
    I think what you mean is turning off the integrated graphics. But the M17 does not have integrated graphics.
    Therefore you cannot turn anything of.

    well in that case you can do the copper mod but i don't know the size of the gap for your chipset you will need to measure that :)
