So let's say I can only afford to get one of these upgrades for the M11x...what would be better for gaming a Core2duo or a 4GB memory? Also what's a good HD size?

    thanx

RAM would give you more then the CPU would in a one vs the other case. At LEAST get the 250gb drive so you have the 7200RPM speed... the 160gb is sloooooow.

Ram for sure. With 2GB you'll be right at the limit. I was playing Team Fortress 2; and ram usage was at 50%.

The 5400rpm HDD is pretty slow. It takes a minute and a half to boot with it.

Too be fair though, the CPU is soldered in. If you make the "mistake" of going CPU over ram, you could always upgrade to 4 gb ram later on when you get some extra cash. This is why I'd personally would go for the CPU upgrade.

But if you do not plan to upgrade your ram for awhile or ever, you will see more performance out of having 4 gb ram over the Core2Duo.

Yea you made the right choice. I would have gone CPU as well. RAM is an easy fix if, in the future you decide you need it.

Has anyone gone for the 2gb option with the ram? If anyone has got theirs already could they shed some light on how it performs in benchmarks or in game performance. Its 80 quid or 125 dollers for the upgrade in the uk and im trying to justify paying for it at that price
    Cheers
