So I just found out that you can actually use the faster RAM with the i5 processor (and I'm sure there are a billion other processors that can use it as well). Is there any point in upgrading from 1066? I don't know anything about it, so I can't tell if Dell isn't offering the 1333 because there's no reason to, or because they want you to spend more on a quad core. Thanks in advance

You can use the 1333 ram with i5's, but it just down clocks itself to 1066.

Only the quads (720QM/820QM/920XM) can utilize the 1333 memory, AFAIK.

I5 and the I7 620 (the dual core one) have FSB's of 1.066ghz, there for 1333mhz ram will be a waste. Unless purchased with the intent of upgrading processors in the future. possible yes, but as others suggested, the BIOS will downclock the ram so that the FSB/RAM sits at a 1:1 ratio.
