Well to make a long story short, I had a M1730 and Dell replaced it with a M17x, a refurb. More then I expected.

I have bearly started using it and a couple of things I cant seem to find answers to. The built in video camera stops working sometimes at random. I try to use Skype and all the person sees is colored lines where my image should be. I see that also on my end but can see the rest of my screen. Kind of a pain when the girlfriend is studying in Europe and I try to talk to her.

I seem to be having mic problems unless the program YouCam is running. On skype and even on Rosetta Stone. I go in and try to set up the mic in "Set up a microphone" but it says it can bearly hear me. If I start YouCam it then says it hears me.

Also my QuickTouch pad, I believe that is what its called bearly seems to work. I try to push the volume up and it doesnt read it.

The stutter was happening to me but I believe I have fixed that with all the updates. Havent seen it sense.

Thanks for the help. I just started getting into this machine but with work and alot of thing happening at home I havent had the time to dive into it like I want to. I loved my M1730, I knew that thing well because I had it for almost 3 years. This 17x is so far amazing excluding the issues above but it seems that it will work. Dell's customer service to me has been great. They have done everything so far to make me happy. I was hoping there is a eazy fix instead of having to call them again saying their refurb unit they sent me has problems.

Plus when M1730 crashed my boss Okayed for me to get an Alienware tower for my office so now I have this and the beast at work.

    Thanks
