    Hi there guys

Well after long phone calls to AW support, about my M9750 not being able to run Gears of war and crysis with out the graphics tearing or crashing.
And yes ive tryed all the drivers, stopping all back ground programs etc!
Sent it in to them, and they say its because the cpu isnt powerfull enough to run these games?I need 2.4 +to run.
They ran 3dmark 06 and got 7800 score.

    M9750
    Cpu 2.33
    Gpu sli 8700gt
    Ram 4 gb

    Would appreciate some feed back?

yeah I would agree with that cause I have a single 8700 with a little bit lower score and I can run COD 4 just fine (never tried Crysis). Don't believe them!

haha....seriously even a mid range laptop with 8600m GT can run those games without graphics tearing or crashing. I am wondering where'd AW hire those technicians.

7800 seems a bit low, should be close if not above 8000.
Anyway,at that score, come on,even my 2.2 plays GoW perfecty, and your 2 gpus burry my GTX.
They`re full of BS, it might just need better drivers.

    Hi RovJimix,
Your computer should be perfectly capable of running both Crysis and Gears of War. Although the recommended specs are obviously high, this has no impact on whether or not you can run the game. The only requirements that need to be met are the minimum. Also, just as everyone else has stated, it's not uncommon to see someone with less than the minimum running it perfectly fine at a lower resolution. If you look at my specs at the bottom of this post, you'll see that my specs are lower than yours, and even though I don't get perfect play, I can still run Crysis reasonably well (sound skipping included lol).
I would have to say that there is an issue with one or both of your video cards. For some reason, it seems like a common thing to get a set of bad cards......I dont' know why this is. My cards were replaced twice before my m9750 became useable. Under no circumstances should texture tearing or distortion occur. This is not normal opperation. Be persistent and Alienware will help.

    Hope this helps,
    Gabe

    Hi RovJimix,
I found myself saying the same thing. I hope they come to a resolution for you sooner than later. I wish I was more part of the Alienware picture, but I'm currently only a Dell Technician. I'm fairly kept outside the loop lol.

My crappy desktop, 1.83GHZ AMD, 1GB Ram, and a 7800GS video card plays Crysis just fine on low settings with a few set to medium. Thats at 1680x1050 resolution.

My m9750 played Crysis better with out the patches! Don't download the patches. For gears of war go ahead and update the patch. I get crysis at med/low settings okay with Single 7950 GTX. I also played Gears of war okay at some max and med settings! Also check your Res. It tends to overheat the Video Card if u max the res.

Sounds like SLI needs to be enabled. Go into your nvidia control panel and enable SLI and see if it gets a better score. AW always seems to forget to enable it after a repair.

Looking at your sig, you should be able to play Crysis all med, except shaders and shadows at HIGH,at 1024x640 at ~20-25 fps.
It`s how I`ve played it, shaders and shadows make Crysis imo.
