this is my m15x with smart bay battery and using internal graphics card.

see how much the battery power is? That's insane!! woho~~ :D

Last time I checked it bounce between 15 hours and 12 hours. So I think 13~14 hours is the average..

PS. this is with wireless on!

well, this is my first time using internal and with both battery. I think this value will decrease overtime. But it's still cool though.

    Now I got 9 hr and 40 mins (91%)

    Not bad :)

    really ???

this is what I do to get the max battery.
Fully charge both, put on integrated mode, Stealth mode, lowest brightness, and all lights off (alienfx)

I remember i get more than 4hrs after that i slept and hibernated it.

I usually get about 7 hours with wireless on, stealth mode, integrated graphics, lowered brightness ( usually using 2 or 3 bars ) power saver mode, and alienfx turned off. ;)

If you want to check which graphics card you are currently using, right click on your desktop

    1. If you see Nvidia Control Panel as an option, you are on dedicated graphics ( in your case, the 8800M GTX )

    2. If you see Graphics Options as an option, you are on integrated graphics ( X3100 )

make sure you remove the auto shutdown when 10% remaining... in power options. 10% can take you 48 minutes if 100% taking you 480 mins

Where can i get the Smart Bay accessories??

when i purchased, i only bought the blu ray drive and now i woul like the extra hdd and battery and AW really does not help with ZERO m15x support in the online AW store lol

    EDIT:

and is the 9cell battery for the alienware bigger and bulkier than the standard one?

    I get 7ish.

Don't trust Vista's estimates... actually test it with a timer.

Where did you get a 9 cell battery from?

nice, seems like 13 hours is not far from the real time I hope. :)
I'm glad that m15x is extremely mobile with integrated, stealth and power saver.
at least it's beyond my previous HP laptop. ;)

Yes, the 9-cell exists... someone even had pictures posted once.

I believe the 9-cell is only available in certain locations. I believe it's been released in Europe mainly. no idea why.

You might be able to get one from CS if you call... No idea though.

it sticks out the back and it's kinda clunky looking... IMO.
it's square, just like the current battery, but extends behind the laptop about 3/4" (maybe more), just fyi

I guess this makes good sense, as the smart bay battery is much easier to swap out than the main one.
