I just installed 2 x 2gb 204-pin SIDIMM DDR3 PC3-8500 1066 RAM in my M17 and when booting PC I can now see that I have 4gb RAM but 3dmark 06 and 3dmark Vantage are showing the frequency as 667mhz and not 1066mhz and displays DDR2 and not DDR3.
I checked in the BIOS and doesnt look like I could change the settings.

The sticker on the RAM is the same as the above description. I assume DDR2 200 pin wouldnt fit in an M17.
Have I been sent incorrect RAM or is Futuremark incorrect?

    thanks.

    its DDR2 memory, you times that speed by 2, 667 x 2 = 1334 mhz

that makes sense. DDR3 (Double Data Rate 3)... so it's 2x667mhz=1333mhz, which gets downclocked to 1066mhz due to the chipset, right?

3dMark has a bug when reporting RAM. :D You're solid - or should be. You should be running @ 533MHz. Here's a screenshot of my cpu-z & Vantage reports.. Even cpu-z reports it as DDR2 in one screen and DDR3 in another :p
