Hello,
Anyone notice how Crysis uses 1 core (in my case the second core) most of the time during gameplay? When I run Crysis (all settings on High) the second core hits 100% a few times, but mostly stays above 90%, while the other core hovers on 10% to 15% usage. Maybe it's just my system. This doesn't seem to happen during menus or cut scenes.
I'm kinda new to PC gaming, so if anyone has any insights...

run the task manager in the back ground and play crysis for 5 mins. (get into shoot outs and stuff) and then ppost a screen shot of it. and what fps you get. and what settings you have it at.

I didn't test it but as far as I know Crytec "gave" each core "special" tasks, e.g the physiks and so on.
I'll test it as well.

Hi, I ran it with FRAPS. Also, why would the frame rate be so low? Is this normal in a fight?
Settings all high. -
The battery icon shows me that you play on battery mode? Are you sure you enabled 100% of your performance^^
I am sure the unequal CPU usage is normal for crysis^^

Hi. No, it was plugged in.
I just ran 3DMark06 (basic) and it gave me 12218. I don't know if this is good or bad or average. Care to enlighten me?
Also on that same page with my results it says Graphics Memory 512MB. Shouldn't it be 1GB since I am using the dual HD 3870s? Would that 3DMark06 score tell me that I am using the dual ATI cards or no? -

Yes I have a T9400 and no Raid. I see then. So everything is fine I suppose.
What about the graphics question? I searched and it says that crossfire doesn't double or something but I still have 1GB... I didn't get that part. -

Crysis can be manually set to use more than one core; see here:
http://www.tweakguides.com/Crysis_10.html
The guide will show you how to implement that.
About CrossFire - the cards have 512MB of memory each, and with two cards you would think 512MBx2 = 1GB. That is not true; the data on both cards are mirrored, so you effectively have 512MB of video memory; both cards have to hold the same data in their memory. Don't worry, 512MB of video memory is more than enough.
Crysis uses mostly 1 core (M17)
