Hello everyone, i was just curious if anyone would be interested in a custom designed mouse mat, i know when i ordered my alienware system it didnt come with a mouse mat like my old one which was a bit disappointing but a friend of mine sells these mouse mats that are engraved with any picture and any text that you want via a computer. I asked him to make me an Alienware styled mouse mat and was very happy with it, looks better than the plastic one i got with my last system which fell apart on me lol.

So yeah i told my friend that theres potentially a few people on here that might be interested so i thought id post this up to see how many people might be interested.

i will try and post up a few pictures soon, as it says in the title its made out of anodised aluminium which is like an aluminium core whicih has a small layer of plastic on the outside which the laser engrave takes away to leave the aluminium showing in the shape of your design. Works very well with my mouse as well.

please comment bellow if interested guys

Show us some pics plus state proposed price. Maybe if it was both ALU and black it would be interesting. Razer already offers a silver polished aluminium mouse pad.

BTW, all dell/aw logos and stylized inscriptions are trademarked/copyrighted so I don't think you are allowed to produce your own products and sell them around.

"Offer a minimum donation of _____"
Or just keep it on the down low.

Although, it still may not prevent receiving a c&d.

I think a better idea would be to make alumium mouse pads that are the exact shape of the bottom of each alienware model. Then have user names etched into the bottom right corner of it in alienware font.

Yeah i agree they will be trademarked/copyrighted so i cant sell them as alienware or dell mouse mats. but if you send me an email with what you want on it with your design, then feasibly i can put what ever logo you would like on it. hint hint lol.

I will get pictures to you guys as soon as possible, my cameras kinda playing up

Um, guys... we cannot sell merchandise here in the open forum. However, photos are always welcome and a link to where they can be purchased (as long as it is not a link to your own web site) would be good. We also cannot post personal contact information in the open forum. (See forum rules for additional info.) If the friend you mention qualifies with all the rules, NBR Marketplace is the only forum where selling is permitted. DarkSkies is also correct about copyrights on company logos and using company names (trademarks). Reproduction is not permitted on merchandise offered for sale.

All that said, I am interested in seeing photos of this custom made anodized aluminum mouse pad. It sounds pretty sweet to me.

Please don't get me wrong, I will not attempt to sell things on this thread, my intention was purely to see if there's any interest, now I know rope are interested I will start selling them in your market place, so those who are interested keep an eye out for it in the up coming weeks.

Having said that I would be interested in what designs people might think would be good on a mouse mat. I did like the idea above of the shape of the laptop at the bottom but I can not shape the mat unfortunately I can only engrave a design on to it. So any ideas Post bellow, will be greatly appriated ! :D

Maybe some sort of carbon fibre effect on the mat with an alienware head central and then the desired text under the head? Like our name or what not.

I already have an only-one-of-four-in-the-world custom designed mousepad... plus I don't find myself interested in an aluminum hardpad. Plus, I would imagine engraving could actually interfere with tracking.

I dont really see the point in your post other than to show of the fact you have a "only-one-of-four-in-the-world custom designed mousepad" Im very happy for you  and if your not interested why comment ?

Also as i said above the engraving does not interfere with tracking, its only the smallest amount that the laser engraves away from the surface, and is smooth to the touch.

Thanks for the suggestion Throbin, i will look into a carbon fibre effect and i like the idea for the design, very helpful comment

Depends on the sensor really, the most sensitive can get thrown off by such things, honestly.

Do try carbon fibre though, it's something that suits Alienware.

    OP means "original Poster".

    pics means "pictures".

Are you going to post any pictures of your friends work for us to see?
