    I had a live chat with a dell employee today, and they told me the following, whether or not I beleive Taj is irrelevant :p

    Try ringing them again and say that you're very tempted in another laptop, but the nameplate is what made you decide on the M17x ;)

    Don't forget to point out that you won't wait to get said other laptop if they can't do you one with the nameplate NOW.

    For the 'other laptop' just state a popular gaming lappy of your choice, a Clevo maybe. (Just a suggestion)

    My suspicion is that AW-Canada does not have the capabilities at their manufacturing plant to laser etch the nameplates, so any amount of begging is probably mute IMO.

    Actually, all your Alienwares are built in China and then shipped across the globe. Therefore theoretically there's no reason why ANY of our M17x can't have a customized nameplate.

    But the sad truth is, Dell doesn't think the way we do. So yeah.... no matter where you are (I ordered from Taiwan and no customized nameplate either), unless you're paying benjies you dun get to brag about your cool dog tag

    Well In a month or so when I have the money to order it im going to use this as a way of either getting a discount or a customizable nameplate.
