Blu-ray bug crashes Powerdvd Ultra versions when attempting to playback titles using AACS BD-J or BD+ copy protection.
(note-If you are running Powerdvd ultra and have had similiar issues submit a support ticket to Cyberlink so that you can recieve the fix when it is released-usually months before an update is released to the general public)

Powerdvd 8 ultra with 8.0.1713.50 stops
    responding-

when I attempt to play the following
    Sony/Fox/Disney blu-ray movies powerdvd
8 ultra shows a black screen and then
stops responding, and locks up with
    processor at 100%.

    Some affected titles are:
    AVP Requiem
    30 days of night
    Juno
    Pirates of the carribean-all
    National Treasure-all

    Cyberlink Response-

    I checked the link-
    1. There doesnt appear to be support for HD/Blu-ray.
    2. I paid $100 for ultra, I want it fixed and I want it to work.

    but thank you anyways...

Does PowerDVD ultra come with an Alienware purchase? And is it the best blu-ray playback media out there?

The best software for DVD playback has always been in my opinion, Intervideo WinDVD. Version 9 has BD playback. I'll be ordering it as soon as I get my m17x.
