LOL, yes the title speaks for itself, but I did have a couple questions:
Is the CPU in the M15x easily upgradeable? I currently have an HP Pavilion and you literally need to go to hell and back to change the CPU.
Alienware claims the notebook to be 1.3 inches thick. Is this at it's thinnest point, or is it the same height throughout? I would like portability; I don't wanna bring it out and have people go wow that think is THICKKK.
How does the illuminated keyboard look? Is it as HOTT and SEXY as it looks on the website?
Anything else I should know before considering it?
Thanks so much in advance guys!

look at this, there are pics also in the first page

people who has it said that it is 1,6-1,7 inches thick, but every notebook in my opinion are underestimated -
HA HA Your title just make me laugh !!! I think after you get a laptop, you should try to find a DAAAAYUM Sexy girlfriend
-
LOL, I DO have a DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYUUUUUUUUUUMM HOTT sexy girlfriend lmao!!!!
I met her through a friend when I was in grade 11, and we've been going out since the end of last school year, so that's 8 months now, and I'm finishing up grade 12.
Anyways, lol, ya... -
How is any alienware 'sexy' or 'hot'. Just look at that stupid disgusting alien trash on the lid. It looks good to kids I suppose......
-
Wow it's OBVIOUSLY a matter of opinion maybe?
Iunno, I think it looks sexy, and I'm sure some would agree with me. -
btw, M15x is very cool. it's the fact it's simple maybe! I didn't like the skullcap version for example, but the ripley design is very beautiful as it is simple
I don't think there's need to speak about the quality of materials -

Alright, alright, the guy got lost trying to get to the Sony forums, let's try and get the thread back on track
-
ROFL!!
I knew I was gonna get into this. Sos people....I'm not normally like this
BUT..did I comment about a sony vaio? I'm just airing my opinion on the alienware's 'trademark' lid, which looks hideous to me. Alienware are probably the best gaming laptop manufacturers and I just find it so funny when people try to show they like alienware's design when all they after is the power.
Simple question....don't you think you would like an alienware more if they got rid of that design? -
I like m15x
more than my asus, or than my old acer ferrari -
-
You don't simply get an AW (or insert favorite brand here) because of the pretty looks, power, integrated thrusters, cappuccino machine, medical unit, or integrated girlfriend, you get a (brand here) one because you WANT one.
You like Sony, cool by me. You don't like AW or (insert brand) design simply move on. No need to lose sleep over someone who wants something else.
I have personally owned both Apple and Dell notebooks. Not because of the looks or the zOMG I have one to show off. But because of the features I get with each and the needs I need to fill with it.
And yes, if someday I need to purchase something from any other brand I will. -
-
LOL wow I was just asking some questions and now everyone's beating on the crappy sony guy.
LOL ya, sony is soooo damn cool, Alienware just CANNOT match up to Sony, cause SONY IS SOO COOOOOOL, OOoooOoooOOoooOOOoo.
Can you TASTE the SARCASM ANYONE????
lol anyways, can I get my question answered please people???
Is the CPU upgradeable at a later date? Let's say if I wanted to change it down the road to keep up with technology? -
Yes, you can keep upgrading the CPU as long as compatible upgrades are made.
You'll have to contact AW to get the system sent in for the upgrade. -
Really? So the CPU isn't swappable like some laptops out there?
The RAM and hard drive are EASILY changeable OF COURSE, right? Without having to send it in RIGHT? Cause if I have to send it in to change the hard drive, I'm going to reconsider this notebook.
It's soooooooooooooo sexy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
The CPU is swappable like any other mobile system out there.
For warranty purposes AW prefers to handle CPU and motherboard upgrades by themselves as they have had customers break CPUs or motherboards before while upgrading.
When it comes to easy to replace parts like RAM and hard drives AW simply sends you the part and guides you on how to replace it over the phone without the need to send the system in. -
Sweetness, alrighty! It's just that technology changes so much I wanna be able to upgrade, as I know notebooks are limited to upgrades enough as it is. So I'll get to upgrade to a 3452845092389 core processor when they come out with one tomorrow.
Does anyone have any pictures of the guts inside? I wanna see the mobo/CPU/GPU/HDD layout. -
There is a thread entitled "m15x insides"

You'll find the thread here:

Hmmm, I did not want to get into the Sony discussion, but I also do own a Sony VAIO GRX P4 2.0MHz and felt a bit attacked. It is old now but has never failed me in any way. Sure, it is not a gamers notebook, but then again I do not game a lot (hardly at all). I do use it a lot for Music, DVD, Photos and CAD programs (such as AutoCAD). Now with all these new programs and features, the P4 is not really doing it anymore.
Recently I purchased a used m7700 which in my eyes is the most beautiful design ever for a labtop. Surely not a truly portable, but this does not matter for my purposes.
Particularly I like the blue color the lights in the skull head and the Alienware brand name. It may look to some infantil, but it looks really cool to me - the total opposite to my Sony which has a very conservative flair. so far it has caused a lot of Ohh's and Ahh's. I also like the m9750's as well as the m15x or even the m17x, but it is too much machine for me to even consider them.
Buy what you like and be happy with it. I f some likes an old Tandy, well so be it! -
Guys,
Get back on topic.
