Interesting. Have you tried this yet? It's a Windows 10 driver in cab format. I'm not downgraded to Windows 10 yet, but it may support Windows 7. Windows Update display drivers are often super buggy and incomplete. I will need to mod it for my M18xR2 because it does not have the correct hardware ID. Thanks for the link. I'm willing to try anything at this point, since nothing released by NVIDIA since 345.20 works correctly for my 780M SLI setup. Everything throttles like crazy except 345.20 or earlier drivers.

If you have WinRAR installed, right clicking on the *.cab file will allow you to extract the contents and manually install the driver.
I have a bit of faith that it may be good since it's from DELL even though it comes through Windows ****dates.
When you say Windows 10, all that comes to my mind are imaginations of a bigger failure than 8, the more updates it gets, the crappier it gets. Seems like Microshaft are doing everything BUT listening to their customers' feedback.
Sorry for the OT you pressed the wrong button by mentioning that OS
PS: Whatever happened to nVIDIA having better drivers than ATI like in the old days? it's the other way round now. When nVIDIA marks something as WHQL, my mind marks it as ALPHA stage than the users start testing their garbage for them. We are belong to t3h nV!d!4 -
I tried a few tweaks to the package and cannot get it to install under Windows 7. It appears to be a Windows Update driver. There is no installer and it would need to be manually installed through Device Manager, but I keep getting an error about a resource could not be found. I'm back to 345.20 again also. Going to have to wait it out and see if NVIDIA eventually gets their act together.
I tried modding 353.00 further again also. Even spoofed all of the strings and Sections for GTX 690, Titan, Titan Z, 780, 780Ti and GTX 980 and the throttling behavior is identical no matter what. Back on 345.20, it overclocks like a banshee again, with no throttling whatsoever. Man, what a bunch of retarded dunderheads they have on their driver development team. I find it hard to believe they are trying this hard to ruin the functionality of their products, but the only other conclusion that can be drawn from this is they are simply incompetent. -

Well, I'm not ready to toss the baby out with the bathwater. We'd be kidding ourselves to think the grass is greener on the red side of the fence. It's not... they've got their own incompetence to try to cover up, and their anemic mobile graphics options are far from being a viable solution. Using 345.20 my 780M SLI setup still runs like a top and totally stomps the life out of anything AMD has to offer in the mobile realm. And, the 980M SLI setup in my Clevo hasn't missed a beat in spite of the botched up driver mess for Kepler cards.
I'm getting fed up as well, but I'm leaning toward abandoning the laptop scene altogether. It isn't going to happen fast because I don't have the $5,000+ in discretionary cash it would take to buy just the basic components to build the kind of crazy leviathan desktop beast that I would be satisfied with, but I am definitely not liking the direction things are headed, at all. What will happen first is I will disconnect and stop burning time and money resources trying to make a silk purse from a sow's ear. This nonsense we are dealing with is becoming very tiresome and turning my once wonderful hobby into a tedious, laborious and loathsome chore. The idiots responsible for building the new filthware have lost touch with reality. The cancer they are injecting into drivers to deal with these defective--excuse me... EFFICIENT--low-TDP trashbooks the OEMs are churning out is breaking stuff on the good machines.TomJGX, TBoneSan and Spartan@HIDevolution like this. -

Talking about laptops.......technology doesn't to be moving forwards........but rather, backwards....BGA crappy CPUs. stupid 4K screens on a tiny 17 inch laptop that needs either binoculars to see things or DPI scaling by 250% which would make half my programs not display right because they aren't programmed to deal with DPI scaling well.... I could go on forever but just let's take a long nap for now.....TomJGX, Papusan, TBoneSan and 1 other person like this. -
